First off, you must understand that the point of Counter-Strike: Source is not getting the highest Kill-Death ratios, it's a team game where everyone has a certain role, and in the end some player might end up with the worst Kill-Death ratio possible even though he has played one of the most important role in the team. This is not always the case in pubs though, when you may need to singlehandedly carry your team to victory. So, if you are thinking about how to get more kills without dying, then these strategies should be good enough to make you a better one man machine.
So you want to be Rambo, eh? Rambo killed anyone in his way, so that will be your primary goal. Shoot any living thing that moves, as long as it's wearing the opposing color! Sounds simple? Not really. Rambo knew how to handle weapons and when to use them, and he utilized every possible advantage including the environment. So before you start charging against your opponent prepare yourself for the arena by knowing your weapons.
Pistols: Counter Terrorists (CTs) start the game with the USP while Terrorists (T) are armed with the Glock. USP is the more powerful of the two, and is considered one of the best pistols in the game. Whereas, the Glock makes up for its weakness with its ammo capacity - one clip holds 20 bullets.
You should work on your aim, and when that is good enough, you should definitely go for the Night Hawk .50c, or Deagle (Short for Desert Eagle) as it is popularly called, which is extremely good at any range for a pistol. This small weapon is powerful enough to bring down a goliath with a single head shot and through doors too! Remember, the more rapidly you shoot, the worse your accuracy gets, so have patience and aim well instead of throwing a flurry of bullets. Let the Force guide you to your opponent's skull.
Shotguns: There are only two shot guns to choose from, the Pump Action and the Automatic. The pump shotgun is perhaps the worst weapon in the game because of its insanely slow rate of fire, even though each shot does pack a lot of damage. Whereas, the automatic has a much faster rate of fire while dealing the same amount of damage. However, the ammo capacity is only seven at a time, and when you are out of ammo, reloading takes too much time for comfort because the shotguns reload one bullet at a time! The best places to buy a shotgun would be in small maps or where there is an important passage. Get as close as you can to the enemy and one shot should do the job.
Sub-Machine Guns: Perhaps the most accurate guns in the game, the sub-machine guns are rather weak. If you are low on cash, get the MP5 - this is one of the most used guns. Why? It has good accuracy and damage compared to its price. In fact, this weapon remains quite accurate even when you are moving, and it also has the potential to stun the opponent.
The more expensive FN9P0 is good too, mainly because it has an additional 20 clips, which is a lot in a game like CS:S. The important thing to practice with the submachine guns is to tap instead of hold the fire button. This will make you accurate without decreasing any rate of fire.
Rifles: If you have the cash, you are going to buy a Rifle, period. The Terrorists have the CV-47 (better known as the AK-47). The CV-47 is awesome from long range. Make sure to switch on burst fire mode and "tap" the fire button when picking off targets from a distance; quickly switch to the automatic firing when engaging enemy close range. This is the best weapon the Terrorists have, so if you are one, utilize it. Practice your aim, and this bulldozer will strike your enemies down.
On the other hand, the Counter-Terrorists have the Carbine. This is the best weapon in the game. It's perfectly balanced in all aspects. There's a silencer mode too which should prove to be very useful in maps like Office. This is the perfect weapon to pick off enemies from a distance or engage in close range. If you want a high Kill to Death ratio, this is the weapon to aim for. If you use this well, Rambo would be proud.
Then there are the Sniper Rifles too. While the Scout is the weapon of choice for the Snipers, the Magnum Sniper Rifle is often called overpowered and you risk the chance of getting banned if you abuse that weapon. The Magnum (also better known as AWP), can pick off an enemy with one shot, unless you hit the arms or legs, but even then you deal an insane amount of damage. So be careful if you use this in a pub game. In a clan game, a well-trained Sniper can either make or break a game. So make sure that you know your role.
Machine Gun: The M249 is useful when placed on a critical point in the map, such as a small passage the opponent must go through in order to reach their goal. Use this weapon wisely and in the right places, and you will be dominating in no time.
So you know your weapons, practiced a lot with them, and can pick off enemies with one shot from the distance? Very good, but you need to have other tricks up your sleeve to survive on the battle field.
Getting a Kevlar and Helmet is a must. This will reduce the damage you receive and even protect you from a head shot.
Also, never ever turn a blind corner without throwing a Flash Grenade. Flash Grenades will be your friends if you want to get a high Kill to Death Ratio. Take advantage of your enemy's lack of mobility and flash them. While they are seeing stars, mow them down with your deadly aim. Throwing grenades in the right spots are another advantage. Learn to anticipate your opponent's movement. Listen for sound cues, and give them a taste of explosive fragments even before they can turn the corner.
When you start the game, run with the knife out, that will give you a great boost to speed. When you have reached the midpoint of the map, take out a grenade and let that greet your enemies. Learn the maps and find out the best ambushing and hiding spots. Use pillars, trees, or boxes to your advantage as your weapon reloads. Finally, and most importantly, stick to your team mates.
You must practice daily if you really want to become a Rambo. You must know the maps by heart and learn to be a team player. Get to know which weapons are most effective in each map. And always beat your opponents with greater mobility. Sound simple? It should be!

Not a well written guide, you didn’t tell anything about the scattering of bullets while moving, at the ladder, or walking. Prevent scattering by shooting by staying at one place (crouch or stand), then after a few taps, change your position! as the enemy has spotted your position so he will be trying to aim at your head straight.
AK-47 : – Most powerful rifle in the game. This gun has a slightly less accuracy than a carbine but will shoot down the enemy in one headshot only! (whether helmet ornot, carbine take 3 headshots to kill an helmeted enemy).
AK scattering – Bullets of AK will scatter exactly at the 3rd bullet (if you are firing standing), and will always scatter right from the first bullet if you are walking or running, or you are hanging on a ladder trying to aim, bullet will never reach there correct spot.
AK Range – If at long range pull 1 or 2 headshots and then release the mouse button, and change your position, and so on… it is not necessary that in the first shot you will get an headshot because of its SLIGHTLY lower accuracy. If in short range you can move around jump or whatever and also shoot at the enemies. In mid range, when you see an enemy, stop right there! (don’t just release the up arrow button, also tap a down button for instant stop) or you can push right then tap left… , aim at head always! and shoot 3-4 shots, then move aside stop and then shoot.
Carbine – Same function as ak, but is accurate. 3 shots required to kill helm opp. .
AWP – Best weapon of choice for a sharp shooter, you have to be quick on your aiming, try getting a mouse which fits the size of your hand, if your mouse is small, you will face problems in getting straight booms! whatever may be your mouse sensitivity or acc… That is, if you are pressing your thumb tightly (or almost tighly) to hold the mouse and your 3 fingers are resting on the buttons and the pinky finger is holding tight at the side then get a bigger mouse so that thumb and the pinky finger is set in rest state and a very less effort is required to hold and move the mouse. If you shoot with AWP while zooming, you will mess a shot. So allow it to zoom fully and then shoot. In short range you can fire without any scope too.
