crosshair size

just wondering wat sizes people use. im currently using 1200 size crosshair but have been messing with it lately. i have noticed a great increase in pwnage when people mess with the size of their crosshair.

I use large crosshair size because that's about the size I originally started playing CS with many years ago when you could only change the crosshair color, but not the size. My advice is to use what works for you.

I started in Source with 3200, then played 1.6 for a while and got used to the crosshair.

ATM I'm playing with 2000, a bit larger than before but still quite small. If it's ever locked (official league play etc) then I'll use standard small I guess.

Was using 1200 but dropped it to 500 at the recommendation of a few people. It feels like hs come easier, but i'm very inconsistent at the moment.

Also keep in mind that the crosshair size changes when you change your resolution too. So if you have a lower resolution your crosshair size might be already very big at 1000. Again use what works for you. Just make sure you are able to keep track of it and not "loose sight" of your crosshair.

i've been playing cs for about 8 months now and i've used a small crosshair from the start. 2 weeks ago a switched to medium and i was pleased with the more relaxed less fiddly feel it had. i i'm now on to the large cross hair at a res of 1280X1024 and it took some getting use to but its well worth it imo.

i used to play for some time with no crosshair. i was quiet good at it (meaning i got some kills), it was a wierd hobby, did it on COD too.

Yeah, I used to use the tiny crosshairs (on 1280X1024 a setting around 7500), and I've actually spent a lot of time playing without crosshairs.

I find that without crosshairs you learn to instinctively aim, and then once you get done with that, reintroducing the crosshairs lets you make minute adjustments while retaining the whole screen awareness. With no crosshair it's a pain to fire long range, but you do get used to it, and it's a real ego boost to return to using a crosshair (I ended up returning to a larger crosshair, around 1500 that still shows the recoil without being too large) and have to make smaller movements in targeting their head.

i tried 8000 ended up saying "i might as well buy and LCD monitor and jam the middle pixel." seriously 500= easy on the eyes. 8000= you will be wearing an inch thick glasses withink a week.

i just use whatevers running on which pc(i play at my m8s houses a lot and they all use different sizes lol)

upto now im using small cos i like the feel of being focused on a particular point of the enemy :P

Heh funny thing, I usualy like to play on small with no contrast on red, but one a few months ago I was playing Office with my other buddies and their clan and I was owning pretty nicely, but I went into console and put that crosshair resize command and accidentaly like put it to "0", doh! So basicaly I had no aimer, but funny thing I actualy did better without it, it felt more natural, but of course I got scared after awhile so I just put it back to normal :o .

What I like to do is, cl_crosshairscale 4000 - 4500. The problem is no matter what color you choose it's always a bit tiny, so what you can do is stick a red dot on your screen where your crosshair should be. This has helped me train alot, and when I do no scope rushes with my scout with no red dot I actually get quite a few kills/headshots. No scope scout is friggen lethal.

kewl ive just started using large crosshairs and my kills have skyrocketed, you get a feel where the the middle is and ive lost loads of headshots but the fact i got more kills makes me happier anyway so i cant complain, thanks solid for recommending large crosshairs theyre cool and at first i prefered small but i stuck to large, lol

800x600 is a lil darker then 1024x640 or w/e it is. Thats why i can see the small crosshair good; small on 800x600 is like 8000 on 1024x640

Well i use to use the default crosshair until i learned of the small crosshair. I also use 8000 and at first you do very bad with it because its kinda hard to see but if you do get good with it. Then you will dominate that is a promise. Headshots are nothing with the small crosshair. If anyone doesnt know the command its cl_crosshairscale 8000

my comp went gay on saturday and i can log on to the ****ing menu. I have 2 choices when i log on.. "BIOS MENU" and "BIOS SETTINGS" i think, not home atm. Happened when i was playing css then a blue screen with white words popped up ( dissappeared before i could finish reading ). Then comp just shut off. Cant go to the reformat screen either; it says i need a system disk and i dont know where the **** it it >.<, i have a eMachines recovery disk, but thats about it. Anyone knows how i can fix this? before i get my friend to build me 1 and buy another comp?


btw - do u guys any vid card that can give me 100 fps at max on prodigy, train, and inferno on 1240x640
