Im looking to take my awp game to the next level and need some tips on how to get there...
I consider myself an average awper, somtimes get like 3+ kills in a round but mostly not :( Yesterday I was on awp_dust map and got pwn by a guy that kept no_scoping ppl and was he really fast and accurate.. even with his normal shots. I asked him for tips and he just replied
"skill" :twisted: ...
Any tips, besides "just practice" would be great for CS 1.6..... I mean I wanna get my game to the next level!!!

AWP Guide English
In this guide walle gives us tips and tricks that can be useful for beginners aswell as veterans. He is known for his AWP skills, that has lead to for example LuLAN:s nice results in CPL Denmark and certain SEL matches, this has been documented in the two popular CS-movies ?Wallenberg Brothers? and ?Wallenberg Brothers 2?. I have felt like making an AWP-guide for some time now, and here it is. Atleast I don?t think any special order is necessary.
Fastzoom (observe, not nozoom)
To be able to use fastzoom you must know where your crosshair is without zooming, which you only can achieve by practicing (I?d suggest aiming on a target without zoom, then checking how right you were).
Fastzoom is used this way; you zoom, and fire shortly after. You can of course fire almost immediately or you can wait with firing, well, you see the point.

Trick for hitting nozoom shots.
Everyone has experienced that pure nozoom shots seldom hit their targets, but there is a trick for this. Lets say that three or more opponents are rushing against you or such ? you fire a shot on the first one with zoom, and then you keep holding the ?trigger? (attack1) without letting your awp zoom. With this method you will hit the nozoom shots you fire, as long as you fire a shot with zoom first (I bet there?s several different methods of getting this to work, but this is the one I use).

Explanation of avi: In this clip I use fastzoom, the spawnjump and the trick for nozoom shots. The nozoom shots is in the last frags of the avi.
?The spawnjump?
I have no idea if SpawN is believed to be one of the first ones to use this jump, but in lack of anything else to call it..
Anyway, this jump is about being able to shoot as fast as possible when you jump and land on the ground. The purpose of this jump is to land backwards, avoiding the vibration of the crosshair when landing forwards allowing you to fire faster.
Example: if you, as a terrorist are planning to take over the path (what we Swedes call the banana) leading to the small bombsite (left way seen from terrorist side of map). You jump into the ?banana?, using airaccelerate to land backwards (airaccelerate 10 is required).

Explanation of avi: In the beginning of the avi I show how the shot can turn out if you jump forwards and try to fire fast when landing (I think I accidently shoot too early one time, but you get the idea) ? afterwards I show the spawnjump.
To predict another AWP-player.
Using this method you can know where an AWP-player moves after he has fired a shot, since the sound of an awp shot follows the players movement. If he for example fires, and moves to the right, you will hear it.
