i have been looking to upgrade my comp and i don't know if i should go with dual core or just a normal cpu. i didn't know if there would be any benfit on css or if it would do anything on most games out.

Heres my reply to creature in another thread. he had pretty much the same question
creature heres a simple way to put it. If you do alot of multi tasking with bigger programs. ..:::Example: lots of photoshop+games+internet+vent + aim+norton antivirus and stuff like that:::.. then go with a dual core. If you plan on doing only one RAM hog at a time, such as cs:s or photoshop, then you should use a FX because then you use the whole cpu's potential, as opposed to a dual core where half sits idle and half is busting its ass.

Overclock a 3500+ or something.
I have my 3200+ past 3800+ speeds with stock cooling :) 2.46GHz baby

get a kn1 sli and a x2 4400+ .... the performance is phenominal.
only irritant is i cant get drivers for my scanner and have to download custom programs occasionally.

the AMD 3800+ Dual core can be soooo easily overclocked to mirror a 4400+ that it's hardly worth buying the upgrade.... you can do it with stock cooling, too.
