Hi, I'm new to the forum and a little new to the server. I go by PANDAbear or (Pandabear) spelled out in weird characters. Well, here is my PC that was kind of a waste of money and my first custom-built P.C, but at least it get's me 200+ average FPS on CS:S.

AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+
nVidia GeForce XFX 7800GTX
ASUS A8N Sli-Deluxe
1GB (512MBx2) Corsiar XMS
Seagate Barracuda SATA150 200GB (sucks, buy from Western Digital)
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music
Zalman fatal1ty CPU cooler
Plextor CD and DVD drives
Antec 550w Sli PSU
some generic floppy drive...

Perihperals:
Razer Diamondback red version
Saitek Eclipse blue version
ViewSonic 4MS 17" gaming LCD
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers
Blue LED mousepad

All convienently housed in an aluminum CoolerMaster WAVEMASTER case (aka a gigantic heatsink) and on a T1 connection. It cost about 3000$ from Newegg shipped and took me 3 hours to build. It's pretty quiet but it crashes a lot due to the crappy HDD and M$ WIND0Z3. Hopefully, my next rig will be better built and wired than this one, but this rig helps me pwn those newbies and KILLS LAG.

Nice build, and just FYI the seagate barracuda's are among the fastest 7200 rpm drives, however I had one and It died within a year :( Crappy POS, I stick to western digital myself.

Nice rig, What stepping did ya get on the 4400? Seems to be a good overclocker, nice motherboard selection, I got the same one but the damn chipset cooler died, like mosts' do, so i had it replaced :D

I wanted a Western Digital Raptor but it wouldn't fit the budget. Anyway, yeah it's a pretty good rig but for my next one I'm going to experiment with watercooling and overclocking on some less "godly" hardware.

2GB=Video/audio creation/editing, servers and really rich people who'd rather spend another $150+ on RAM then upgrading a graphic card/proc or donating that money to charity.

Hey I was planning to get a viewsonic 2 ms lcd monitor. How is your monitor for CS? Does it look like it is 200 FPS? or can it reach that refresh rate? Is it blurry when playing CS? O and how much is it?

First of all, Pig, it is a very good monitor. Even though most gamers prefer CRTs over LCD this monitor lives up to it's name. It has a very good response time and refresh rate and yes, it shows every single detail and looks like 200+ FPS. It cost about $250, not bad, from newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116359
The other newer LCDs with lower response times look very nice but this one has served me well and was pretty cheap.

yah i approve an LCD monitor with a good refresh rate they look better in my opinion if u have an exspensive one with good refresh rate
