View Full Version : What's better? LCD- CRT
Which monitor is better, LCD or CRT? CRT = big, blocky, power drainage and radiation.
LCD = Small, sleak, larger screens, less radiation, less eye strain, and less power drainage.
So CRT does what again? Better picture? Anything?

You can get a better picture on a CRT for less money than an LCD, that's the only up-side.
My 17" CRT monitor with .21 DPI (awesome dot pitch) only cost me $120 (it's a samsung) where as a 17" LCD with like.. 1000:1 contract ratio (similar quality picture) would cost like... oooo a shit load, plus, most LCD monitors are only 400:1 contrast ratio, and they have shitty ass quality picture.
personally, i <3 my CRT

We use depleted uranium in our bullets in Iraq. This has had permanent side effects on thousands of soldiers in the first desert conflict. We're talking babies being born without brains, massive birth defects, as well as a wide range of health effects for the host.
If it had such a big side effect, why would we use them?
Because we it's effective, we can, and we will continue to do so.
Same thing applied to cigs for the longest time.
Unless it has an immediate effect people aren't bothered by it.

depleted uranium = no radiation?... that's why it's depleted.. i think... o well sky is probably right he's smart.

Yeah, but won't it suck kind've when you have to carry that big ass monitor? Like to a Lan party or whatever, and doesn't it do bad shit to your eyes, and doesn't it use more power?
Just say yes to everything and get one of each. And DLP isn't that good, dead pixels are more likely to occur in that shit like 3-4x more than LCD and 10x more than CRT.

I don't carry my CRT anywhere... I live in VALDOSTA GEORGIA... there is no such thing as a LAN party down here.
Yes, but notice I said and stuff, which means moving and "such", isn't it bulky and crap? I mean common it's more of a pain in the ass to carry the monitor than it is the computer.

I doubt crt's give off enough radiation to make babies born without brains, and depleted uranium is only used because it is very dense, and cheaper than tungsten.

Ive had both, i really dont see a good advantage on either unless you have a round monitor and not a flat, you obviously want the flat because the glass on the round monitor just looks fuzzy and unclear, with an lcd you have no worrys.
