I'm not one of those people who Hate a guy or boycott his movies because I boggle at his religious beliefs, or because he's a Sith Lord out to kill Oprah (http://x4.putfile.com/6/17117153763.gif); However, I do admit I wasn't looking forward to seeing this movie when my friends planned last night's outing. What could they do that they hadn't already done pretty well in the first two?
Overall, I enjoyed the movie, and I'll tell you why later on. For now, I'll mention that I haven't seen so many shots of a person sprinting since Run Lola Run. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130827/)
Ever have those moments while watching a movie where you laugh despite a seemingly tense situation onscreen?
I was laughing through this whole movie, and not always at Tom Cruise; A genuine smattering of amusing statements made by supporting castmembers do not seem forced as I might have expected. The action scenes are nicely shot, with evidence of a decent amount of thought put into them.
I do recall during that Singapore base jump wondering if he really had any other plan to stop himself other than snagging on that bigass pipe. Okay Mr. Crazy ass high-tech spy man... Spend all that time calculating with your chalk on the window and forget about the landing. What about those Magnets from the first movie? They worked pretty damn well for you back then, and we know you have them since earlier in the movie you attached explosives with them. I suppose I leapt to the conclusion he forgot about the Stopping part when he kept going after killing the guards and started to look really panicked.
