Recently I was talking to Payne about 1.6 and he mentioned that you can get a constant 99 FPS, so I started trying to figure this out. I didn't have much luck except for changing the max FPS adjusted it a bit.

I was wondering if anyone has a way to do this? Do I need a whole config setup or can I do a few minor things?

Also I recently was messing with my config in console and somehow I adjust something and so text is at the top of my screen. It's only one line at a time and it stays up there a while. One thing it says (I play mostly on a UWC3 server) is stuff like "Tropicalpyro has set us up the bomb" or "You gained 156 exp." It almost seems like I spread out the text at the bottom to the top. Does anyone know what I can do to rid myself of that?

Thanks in advance,
Tropicalpyro

Why, what fps do you get?

Most PCs these days should run 1.6 at 99 fps constant.

If you have an ATi card try using these console commands:

ati_subdiv 1
ati_npatch 1

Also, if you get constant 60 fps, try a refresh rate locking program. Turn Vsync off, and have your monitor refresh as much as possible (if it's a CRT).

I usually run about 60 FPS. I have tried both ati things and neither seemed to make much difference but I'll try again. How can I turn Vsync off and how can I change my monitor refresh rate? I think I have played with my monitor refresh rate before but I'm not positive so I'll try again. Thanks for the pointers, I'll post how everything goes.

Sorry it took so long for the response. The two suggestions didn't seem to adjust anything, it's still around 40-60. I couldn't find anything out about Vsync or any refresh lock programs. Does anyone have any tips?

if its dipping from 40-60 then its your hardware and no amount of tweaking will give you 100fps
