just a ball park estimate

You will get enough on high that it wont even matter

It would be like running every single same in the future that looks like Halo 3 at 120 fps+ as the new standard instead of 60fps.

This is a customized comp I just created in a couple of minutes, has some sick stuff, but real cheap. Didnt know your price range, so I just guessed how much you would spend :9. I looked up the xps700 on dell and it was a lil over 2k unless you plan on getting it somewhere else for cheap. Just thought i could help a lil

For $1857.00 you can have..

I put a liquid system in there because i thought you like it, if its too much money i can always remove some stuff or add more stuff if u want it better. Or you can do it yourself @ www.cyberpowerpc.com AMD was better than Intel i heard well... If u plan on gaming only.

some cal-i guys play on 800x600 just for the small xhair

paradox - i dont really know i just looked at what payne was gonna get from dell and added a few things of my own or what i like. Im guessing uh... a little more fps as you would get from the most expensive xpx700 from www.dell.com . Im 55% sure you might get somewhere at 190+ probably higher than 200 on your best map on high settings. Trust me thats MORE than enough. 70-80 is good enough on high settings. One thing i wouldnt get from my customized comp is the water cooling system, if it leaks your pretty much ****ed. I just added because pig or payne liked it.

well.. here are some respones to your question from ppl on gotfrag.

1.why get quad SLI ever? especially if you only have 1 GB of memory. and in source, CPU matters more than anything.
2.it should work at about 100 all the time
3.im just taking a wild guess, but probably around 1-2 million
4.just to let you know you quad sli does not work with 2 7950 gx2s.... So buying two would be pointless now since there is no driver support for them
5.Evo the driver is being released soon.. not like they will never release it.

BUt there is no point as the dx10 cards will be out soon. :|
6.source is CPU dependant and RAM dependant.
7.it's a waste of money because there's nothing that can utilize or push those cards to any extent. you'll just end up bottlenecking on your CPU end from those cards pushing hard (unless you have a nice new CPU).
8.This is one of the sweetest cards in a while.

Hopes this help

I think those new Dells are kinda a waste of money, the quad SLI is alittle over the top, you could build a custom comp that could do all the things a dell could and save $1000...

my comp does 150 fps on max settings, no HDR tho (don't like it)

I Would build a custom pc. You can't customize dell comps, down the road you might not be satisfied and want to change something... instead of buyinga whol enew comp you can just get a new part.

wow im buildin mines 7950gx2 amd 4600x2 2gb

dell are qualified to make quad sli systems (meaning that driver stuff shudnt be a prob with dells quad sli) but its trus if u build a comp at the moment quad sli is not supported i wud suggest building your own its not too hard you learn alot =] and save alot of $$$

AMD can only compete in prices right now. The K8L isn't due until next year.

In fact AMDs prices are set to drop up to 50% the day after the Core2 Duo and Extreme chips come out.

I simply must have an X6800 chip!!

Order the Dell XPS700 if you want.

Here are my suggested customizations to the XPS700 if you have $3,712 to blow away.

Intel? Core?2 Extreme processor x6800 (2.93GHz)
-
Genuine Windows? XP Media Center 2005 Edition with re-installation CD [Included in Price]
-
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 2 DIMMs
-
160GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive (10,000RPM) w/DataBurst Cache? [[[REALLY FAST loading times :D]]]
-
Dual 512MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX
-
AGEIA? PhysX? physics accelerator
-
20 inch Ultrasharp? 2007FP Digital Flat Panel
-
LOGITECH G15 Gaming Keyboard (ships separately)
-
CREATIVE LABS GigaWorks ProGamer G500 Gaming Speaker System
-
Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 924

This is the system my cousin ordered.
Just before he had...
AMD Athlon 4200 2.4ghz (I think)
Nvidia 7900GT 256mb (overclocked to 550 core and 1520 memory)
1gb Corsair RAM

Ran CS:S at 150fps in de_dust2. 90 fps in de_dust with HDR. His settings were 1600x1200 8x AA, 16x AF, VSync Enabled, Color Correction enabled.

You can definately get about 150-200fps on average with the PC I customized for you.

Wait for DX 10 cards, just get some sort of 7600, they are really good for their price and they give u more juice for it than a 7800.

That's true kid. But DX10 cards need a new slot. Which needs a new motherboard. And that motherboard only has new DX10 processor and RAM slots so you'd need a whole new DX10 PC which will cost A LOT of money. More than the 3500 he would spend on a XPS700.

Get an extreme high end PC like the one I customized for you and that will hold you off until Q3 next year.

Dell's xps 700 line is very mismanaged. It was released on May 31. People who ordered it on June still have not received their comps yet. This dell fiasco seems to get worse everyday:

http://www.direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/2006/07/20/643.aspx

If I order mine today, it won't ship til October 15. No way I can get a new comp for this season.

im going to save u all some money, dont buy AMD!!!
i was thinking amd was the way to go for like 5 months, but then conroe came out, the mid range conroe (E6600) is better than AMD's best proc (FX-62/4)

and it is like 1/3 of the price, litrely.

o and that $3000 setup was "ok" but the ram u speced was not very good, thats the problem, if u buy from dell u dont realy know waht they are giving, my 6400 ram runs @ 800mhz @ stock

go to cyberpowerpc, or meshcomputers, (i recomend cyberpower) i choose all the parts i wanted there and bought them at komplett (a uk site)
