ATI Radeon X800XL PCI-E 256mb
AMD Sempron 3400+ 2.0ghz (I have socket 754 on my mobo)
2GB (2048mb) Rosewill RAM
I'm planning on spending about $230 pretty soon for a new mobo (nForce 4) with socket 939 so I can put a AMD Athlon 3800+ 2.4ghz into it. Yes I checked, it's completely compatible with my sound card, my plugs, graphics card, and RAM.
Later on I will spend $275 on an EVGA Nvidia GeForce 7800GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130015) with 500MHz Core and 1500MHz Memory. (FANTASTIC for the price)
Even more later I will upgrade my RAM to 3gb or 4gb.
So, by "even more later" here is a side by side comparison of now, and even more later.
