I'm wanting to get a new CPU for my computer because my Athlon 3200 really isn't cutting it when it comes to playing newer games such as Condemned: Criminal Origins, F.E.A.R., Quake 4, and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. I noticed the FX-62 is a little bit cheaper than the FX-60 so does that mean that the FX-62 could have been stripped down a little bit compared to the FX-60?

I did some research a little and I figured out why. AMD apparently has a new socket type out called AM2 which is the reason why the price is cheaper than the older FX-60 which uses a 939 socket. You apparently won't be able to get a converter from a 939 to a AM2 socket because AM2 socket's run on DDR2.
