What ever you do make sure you get an Intel Core 2 Duo 6300, they overclock really easily and you can get it up to speeds of the 6700 and 6800 with proper cooling and fans and the right cheap motherboard.

NEVER go cheap on the power supply unit or motherboard, theres no point of a high end gfx card if it cant be used properly.
id try for:
Nvidia 7600 GS
Intel core 2 Duo 6600
Some ASUS Mobo that seems like its quality.
and some Kingston DDR2 should do the trick, however i think theres something im not mentioning about kingston RAM, rew knows about it so lets hope he posts.

I'd recommend an SLI ready mobo, PSU and gfx card for later upgrades. I'd go for an AMD AM2 4200+ dual core which can be overcloked from 2.2ghz to 2.6ghz with almost no risk. Unless you're REALLY serious, go for the cheapest RAM that has good bus speeds. You can get cheap 1gb RAM with 800mhz bus speeds which is nice. ALWAYS get good cooling. A slightly more expensive fan will leave you a lot happier as AMD stock fans are the biggest pile of crap you'll see. A large case with 2x12mm fans is also recommended.
